Is it safe to travel in Mongolia?
Mongolia is an very safe country to do a tour. No religious, civil and political resistance against each other. Citizens will be happy to see you and nomads in countryside will show you their utmost hospitality.

How's the weather?
The best time to travel in Mongolia is between the months of May and October. The weather varies considerably from region to region. Early spring, especially in May, is known for its windy days. There is continental climate and temperatures in a single day can vary as much as an expected with strong wind. Mongolia is remarkably sunny country enjoying 250 sunny days; snow and rainfall are very low.

What types of accommodation are there?
You will find a variety of accommodation styles to suit all tastes and budgets in capital city. If you are looking for western-style lodgings, there are the European standard hotels. In the center of provinces, there are a few hotels mostly of a poorer standard. Therefore, most tourists stay in specially constructed gher-tourist camps in countryside. These camps provide accommodation in the round felt dwellings used by nomads and usually have separate rest room, facilities and restaurants.

Can I use my credit cards? If yes, what is the best way to carry money in Mongolia: Travelers Checks, cash or credit cards?
The most stores and restaurants in Ulaanbaatar city will accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express cards. But, in out of capital, there are smaller shops that may not have merchant account capabilities. Bank ATMs exist at various locations throughout center of all towns, and stickers indicate whether a Post Office has an ATM machine. Khaan Bank, Khas Bank, Golomt Bank and TDB are accepted, as are Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Travelers’ Currency Exchanges have no options in country side, it is not wise to have these available in US dollars.
Mongolia has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, so carrying cash is not a real problem in country side.

How to get there?
Mongolian International Airlines (MIAT) and Hunnu Air both operate International flights with Boeing and Airbus planes to Ulaanbaatar. We do not sell international air tickets to Mongolia. Most people coming from Europe use Aeroflot/ MIAT via Moscow. The alternative is to fly via from Beijing in China using Air China/ MIAT. The trans-Mongolian train from Moscow/ Beijing makes a particularly exhilarating entry into the country. The departure days from Beijing are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The journey takes one night and two days. Thus, from Moscow you can get Trans Siberian rail way which leaves Moscow every Tuesday and Wednesday and arrives to Ulaanbaatar on Sunday and Monday respectively.

What should/must i bring?
Your appropriate packing will provide you with more comfort in Mongolian wild nature. When you are traveling, you should pack as lightly as possible. Try to bring luggage that is both lockable and water proof. We recommend you bring an additional smaller, lockable bad that city clothes not needed to the trek can be left behind at the hotel. Please keep luggage weight under 15 kg as the domestic air carriers have baggage allowance of 10 kg maximum and + 5kg cabin baggage (totally 15 kg). Excess luggage charge is 1.5 -2 $ per every 1 kg. Before leaving for a country trip, you can leave extra weight luggage in luggage storage room of the hotel.
