TOUR ITINERARY DETAILS:

 

 

Day 1: Arrival in UB

Our tour guide will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel, then present you the detailed program of our entire trip. In city tour, we will visit Gandantegchinleng Monastery, the first temple was built in 1835 and was center of Buddhist learnings in Mongolia. Then climb up to Zaisan Memorial Hill beneath the Bogd Khan Mountain, where you can see entire panaromic view of Ulaanbaatar city. The Buddha park is just next to the Zaisan and you will see a huge statue of Buddha reaching 23 meters in height. Our next stop will be a Museum of Bogd Khan Palace which was the residence of the last emperor - blade of Mongolia. The museum contains a rich collection of the King & Queen’s unique items used in their daily life, a gifts received from foreign dignitaries and many more interesting exhibits. 

In the evening, dinner at Mongolian Barbeque!

 

Day 2: Terelj National Park

Our driver will take us to the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park features spectacular huge granite blocks and cliffs as well as meadows rich with wild flowers. Terelj offers fascinating rock formations against a background of pine covered mountains and two of the famous formations named after according to their resemblances: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book. The average elevation is about 1600 meters while peak reaching 2900 meters above sea level. Typical round rock masses determine the look of the overwhelming nature. It's a wonderful hiking and horse riding area. In the afternoon, we'll visit a freindly nomadic family where our horses arranged for us. They are a family of horse herders and also gonna be our host for the night.

 

 

Day 3: Start of Horseback Riding Tour 

In the morning, our horse riding tour will begin and will head to the north east of the temple ruin the "Gunjiin Sum". We will ride along the pristine and fresh water river of Tuul. Total of traveling distance is 35 km.

Stay overnight in tents  

 

Day 4: "Gunjiin Sum" Ruin

We will continue to the north and discover forests, ravines and ridgy landscape.

Stay overnight in tents.

 

Day 5-7: "Khar" Lake

In these days, we will move on to Khar lake which nestles beneath the forest mountains.

 

Day 8: Terelj - UB

Today is last day of horse riding trip, return to herders family, then drive back to UB.

Dinner at Mongolian Barbeque.

Stay overnight at hotel.
